Cura infill line width
WebFeb 8, 2024 · Using the current slicing engine, a constant 1 mm line width could leave a 0.4 mm gap that would be tricky to fill. Instead, Arachne adds variable line width to the slicing algorithm. That could mean printing 1.1 mm across all four lines to ensure good fill and prevent the 0.4 mm gap. WebMay 30, 2024 · Now the overall width of infill lines in printed part is around 2.2mm (should be 2.4mm) but that's a reasonable error. Weird thing is that the middle line is still thinner …

For at least some of the UM printers, the default is 0.875 * the nozzle dia, so for a 0.4 nozzle, they use a line width of 0.35. I guess they must have evaluated different line widths and decided that is what works best for them.
WebFeb 9, 2024 · An Ultimaker CURA was used to create the object g-code for each 3D printer. A test cube object with equivalent side lengths of 50 mm was imported into CURA and was set to ‘generate support’ for that volume. For each printer, two g-code files were generated: one with a support line width of 0.6 mm, the other with a support line width of 0.4 mm. WebIn simple terms, the extrusion width or line width is equal to the width of the line that gets extruded from the nozzle to the printing plate by heating the filament. With a 0.4 mm …
WebNov 8, 2024 · This model is printed with two gradual infill steps of 1mm each. The supports get denser 1mm and 2mm below model surfaces Minimum support area This setting defines the minimum footprint area supports need to cover, before being ignored. By default, all areas in need of support are printed. WebOct 18, 2024 · Are you using Cura? Make sure you explicitly set all the line widths the same and to a value equal or only a little smaller than the nozzle width and make sure the wall width is an integer of the line widths. For example if the shell width is 0.35mm the wall width could be 0.7mm but not 0.8 or 0.6mm (which could cause this issue seen here).

WebLine width should be close to the nozzle size and depend on your layer height. Slightly decreasing the line width of the outer wall will add more detail to your model while an increase of line width for the infill will result in quicker printing. The infill line distance of 0.4 mm means that the centers of lines are spaced 0.4 mm apart from each other, so that they exactly touch their neighbors at their width (0.2 mm from the center in either direction).
